TOKYO MURAL PROJECT

The TOKYO MURAL PROJECT is an urban redevelopment project in the centrally-located Toranomon neighborhood, newly coined as the "Shintora" Area. The project seeks to explore a new approach to urban development led by art, involving extensive collaboration among Mori Building, Anchorstar, BnA and Makeshift. Japanese mural artists SAL and JONJON GREEN each created wall art based on the concept of "SPIRAL" that expresses "engage innovative people and create a new future from Shintora street." A huge mural will appear on the facade of the brick building, which is about 33 meters high and 27 meters wide. We hope to inspire the next generation of innovators, artists and entrepreneurs from both Japan and abroad to help shape the future. (This project is commissioned by the Promotion Secretariat of Headquarters for the Promotion of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.)

国際新都心として活発な街づくりが行われている新橋〜虎ノ門エリアのメインストリート「新虎通り」において、TOKYO MURAL PROJECTは発足しました。森ビル、Anchorstar、BnAと共同で、ミューラル(壁画）というアート手法を用いた新しい都市開発の試みです。日本のミューラルを代表するアーティスト、SAL と JONJON GREEN が、「SPIRAL」 をコンセプトに、『イノベーティブな人々を巻き込みながら、新虎通りから新しい未来が生まれて行 くこと』を表現する作品を制作。高さ約 33 メートル、幅約 27 メートルのビル壁面に巨大な壁画が描かれました。
 私たちは、今後もTOKYO MURAL PROJECTを通じて、国内外にエネルギーとインスピレーションを共有し、このエリアから未来を作っていくイノベーティブな プロジェクトが新たに次々と立ち上がっていくことを期待しています。なお、本プロジェクトは、内閣官房オリンピック・パラリンピック推進本部事務局の委託により、平成 29 年度オリンピック・パラリンピック基本方針推進調査として実施しています。
